You Won’t Believe How Much Chris Christie’s Official Portrait Will Cost Taxpayers

Former Governor Chris Christie has commissioned an Australian artist to paint what will be his official portrait.

While NJ's previous three governors (Jon Corzine, Richard Codey and Jim McGreevey) spent a combined $74,500 for their portraits, Christie will outweigh them all and pay Paul Newton $85,000.

We can only imagine what moments will inspire the artist - Sad Christie? A Simpson-ized Christie? Faux-tough guy Christie? If there is any justice in the world, somehow a beach chair will be hidden in the background.
