Back in 1992, the Yankees drafted a shortstop born in New Jersey - you may have heard the name Derek Jeter since then. In 2019, the Yanks drafted another shortstop born in New Jersey - hopefully Yankee fans will recognize the name Anthony Volpe for years to come.

Anthony Volpe attended Delbarton School in Morristown (which looks like a legit college campus). He won a gold medal with Team USA's 18-and-under team last fall. Scouts say he "doesn't have a true plus tool, but he can put the bat on the ball, he's a solid runner, and he makes plays at shortstop."

Volpe is committed to Vanderbilt University, so the Yanks will have to sway his decision to start a minor league career.
