The Pony loves to tease the notion that Bruce could show up at any time...but we all know that there are certain acts that are more likely to receive a visit from Springsteen than others, and Southside Johnny is near the top of the list.

It was the traditional July 4th weekend performance at the Stone Pony by Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes, and the crowd was definitely anticipating a special guest appearance.

Before Southside even took the stage, Bruce jumped up to join Garry Tallent - the first time the Boss has played with Tallent at one of his solo shows.

Then the night really kicked in, with Bruce doing his longest set with Southside in years.
