Jersey is the pizza capital of the country; there's no doubt about that.
From larger-than-life boardwalk slices to brick oven pies, there's nothing better than a Jersey Slice. Since moving to Jersey, I've had more pizza in the past 5 years than I've had in my entire life.

Some of my favorite spots are Capone's in Toms River, Marathon Steak and Potato Company on the Seaside Heights Boardwalk, and the Anchor Inn in Ocean Gate has a pretty killer bar pie.

Places that may not be known for their pizza, but definitely make a pie worth making a trip to try.

When I think of an underrated pizza spot, and this may cause some controversey, what comes to my mind is Costco.
And you can come at me all you want, but Costco pizza is amazing, delicious, and is totally underrated. When I lived at home as a kid, and we got Costco pizza for dinner, it made my night.

I threw the question up onto the 105.7 The Hawk Facebook Page, asking what local spots around Jersey had the most underrated pizza, and the answers we got really surprised me.

4 Underrated Pizza Places In NJ That Locals Swear By
So here are 4 very underrated pizza spots around Jersey, according to locals;
- Stone Fire Grille, in Beachwood, topped the list. They make a thin crust pizza, and have regular specials.
- Esposito's in Matawan also made the list, specifically their sesame seed crust pie, and the pesto pizza is both to die for
- The Shack in Beach Haven made the list for Jersey's most underrated pizza spot as well. It's technically not even a pizza place, but that doesn't stop them from making a great slice!
- Mike's Pizza in Brick is also being hailed by locals as an amazing pizza shop that is totally underrated.
