Two Pemberton Township men are awaiting trial after being indicted for their roles in the murder of an 18-year old Willingboro teen outside of his home, Burlington County Prosecutor Scott Coffina announced on Tuesday.

Willingboro Police were called to the first block of Barrington Lane around 11:30 pm on April 22, 2021 on a report of shots being fired, and once on scene, they found the body of 18-year old Yahsinn Robinson, who was a senior at Willingboro High School.

Robinson was shot several times in the attack.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police learned that 20-year old Sylas Young, and 24-year old Kavon Carter, along with their associates from Pemberton, were in a long-running dispute with certain residents living in the Buckingham Park section of Willingboro.

That dispute led to Robinson, who was on his way home from his part-time job at the time and not involved in this conflict, being shot and killed.

As a result of the shooting, Young was charged by a grand jury with Murder (First Degree), Conspiracy to Commit Murder (First Degree), Gang Criminality (First Degree), Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose (Second Degree), and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon (Second Degree).

Carter was charged with Conspiracy to Commit Murder, Gang Criminality, and Promoting Organized Street Crime, all first-degree offenses.

Prosecutor Coffina said that both men will be arraigned soon in Superior Court and then the case will be scheduled for trial.

For now, Carter and Young are being held in the Burlington County Jail in Mount Holly, and will be prosecuted by Burlington County Assistant Prosecutor Jamie Hutchinson.
