Two Bayville residents were arrested and are facing charges in unrelated shoplifting incidents in Lacey Township while police are also actively investigating a pair of criminal mischief-related crimes.

Lacey Police said that they arrested 36-year-old Michael Mennicucci of Bayville last Friday afternoon after learning from the Walmart associate manager that the man allegedly tried to steal $30.86 worth of merchandise from the store.

Following Mennicucci's arrest, he was processed at Lacey Township Police Headquarters, charged with Shoplifting, and then brought to the Ocean County Jail.

Then on Sunday morning, Lacey Police were again called to the Walmart about another shoplifting incident.

The investigation led to the arrest of a 44-year-old female of Bayville who allegedly tried to steal $458.44 worth of merchandise from the Walmart.

She was arrested, brought to Lacey Police Headquarters for processing, charged with Shoplifting on a complaint summons, and then released from custody.

On Monday morning, a Lacey Police Officer responded to the Education Academy after the damage was reported to a shed sometime between last Friday and Monday morning.

Lacey Police report the damage someone caused to the shed was estimated to be $500.00.

The investigation into this incident is ongoing.

On Monday evening, around 8:31 pm, a Lacey Police Officer SLEO II was closing the bathrooms at Gille Park near the lacrosse fields when he spotted damage in the women's bathroom that is estimated to cost $100.00.

The investigation into this incident continues as well.
