2022 Boys Basketball SCT Bracket

(5) Manasquan 57, (1) Red Bank Catholic 53

Freshman Darius Adams poured in a game-high 26 points and the Warriors (21-4) never trailed in knocking off the top-seeded Caseys (21-4) to reach the Shore Conference Tournament final for the third straight season.

Sophomore Alex Konov and senior Matt Solomon each added 10 points for Manasquan, which led by as many as 17 points in the first half.

Senior C.J. Ruoff scored 19 points to lead Red Bank Catholic, which chopped Manasquan's lead all the way down to one early in the fourth but could not draw even.

Senior Alex Bauman added 15 points and sophomore Gioacchino Panzini added 11 in the loss.

(2) Marlboro 45, (6) CBA 37

Seniors Jay Ratner and Jack Seidler scored 12 points apiece and the Mustangs (22-2) rallied from a seven-point second-half deficit to win the rubber match over the Colts (17-6) and advance to the SCT final officially for the second time ever -- both of which have come in the last six seasons.

Senior Jonathan Spatola added 11 points, including a pair of unanswered three-pointers that pulled Marlboro even, 23-23, early in the third quarter after entering the second half trailing, 23-16.

Marlboro took the lead for the first time since the first quarter on a transition basket, plus a foul from senior Vin Spatola, who scored all five of his points in the second half.

CBA grabbed the lead back, 30-29, on a three-pointer by junior Will Bradley and Marlboro responded with 10 unanswered points to jump ahead, 39-30.

Bradley scored eight of his team-high 11 points in the first half to lead CBA and freshman Justin Fuerbacher added 10 for CBA. Junior Joe White also chipped in eight points, including a thunderous second-quarter dunk that put CBA ahead, 18-14.

Marlboro will take on No. 5 Manasquan Sunday in the SCT championship game, a rematch of last season's unofficial Shore Conference championship game classic. Manasquan won the 2021 title game, 58-56, in overtime on a last-second layup by Andrew Solomon.
