The "Great American Takeout" is a plan set in motion by a coalition of restaurants, aimed to support the businesses in these unprecedented times.

You can scan through the GAT's Twitter for a list of deals for national chains with locations in Jersey, including Panera Bread, Applebee's, Auntie Anne's, and more.

We also have a running list of LOCAL restaurants that are still open for business right now. I know that times are tough for everyone. With thousands of people out of work, it might not be feasible for everyone to do take-out today, and I totally respect that. However, if you can swing it, try to hit up the pizzeria on the corner, try to visit the bbq joint down the street, try to buy from a chain that is owned by a local franchisee. These places have already laid off a majority of their staff, and the longer this situation continues, the more likely it is that they could end up closing their doors for good.
