We have made it to Thanksgiving Week which many consider the unofficial start to the Christmas season.  This is the week when diehards will bring out their holiday decorations, including Christmas trees.  While I prefer that the focus be on our best holiday Thanksgiving, it seems many just want to skip over that and move right into the “big one” which I like very much but would like to delay until at least next week.  However I came into the office Sunday to do so work and saw that building Christmas tree is up in the lobby…at least it’s not decorated just yet.

Anyway a couple of holiday related events that I’d like to mention:

The St. Joseph Grade School PTA is hosting a Christmas Drive-Thru on December 1st and 2nd at the school on Hooper Avenue in Toms River.  The festive event takes place from 6-9pm each evening and includes goody bag, 3-D glasses and a scavenger hunt for each passenger.  Santa, Elves & The Grinch will be on hand and the cost is just $10 per vehicle.  It promises to be a fun time for the whole family and will certainly get you in the Christmas spirit.  If you have questions you can send an email to pta@stjoesschooltr.org

The borough of Seaside Park will hold their annual holiday craft market on Sunday, December 4 at the Seaside Park Elementary School on Central Avenue from 10am-4pm.  There will be crafters, jewelry, baked good and much more.

On a totally unrelated subject and one which admittedly comes from a Penn State fan.  I just don’t see Rutgers making much headway in the Big Ten in the near future.  They were outscored 156-37 by Ohio State, Michigan & Penn State this season and they play in the East Division with those teams each year.  A good year for the Scarlet Knights would be a fourth-place finish in the 7-team division and even that might be a stretch.

A list of NJ malls where you can get photos with Santa for the 2022 holiday season

More details and locations will be added as the holiday season progresses, so please check back often for updates. Malls are listed in alphabetical order.
