The opening date was last posted at May 26th, but that date changed right before Memorial Day Weekend

Today, Governor Murphy announced that it is planning to open "soon"

He announced today that the DMV will open in a phased reopening starting June 15 for drop-off and pick-up transactions, and a tentatively scheduled June 29 for road tests and new licenses.

There have been a lot of people waiting to take their road tests over the last few months for whether it be commercial or private drivers licenses.

According to the Asbury Park Press:

Chief Administrator Sue Fulton said it will take the agency about 60 days to clear the backlog of almost 60,000 individual and commercial road tests. For other functions, such as registration and licensing, clearing backlogs is expected to take about 90 days as well, depending on how many people use the online systems.
