A bright meteor lit up New Jersey skies and triggered a loud boom Tuesday afternoon before breaking apart high above Galloway near Atlantic City.

Nasa says the bright fireball disintegrated about 27 miles above Galloway Township.

The American Meteor Society received over 100 reports from New Jersey and nearby states.

Ahead of an approaching meteor shower, a fireball was seen blazing through the sky in New Jersey and other Northeast states on April 10.

It was roughly about two years ago that South Jersey was going nuts over something that seemed to look like a fireball falling from the sky.

A green fireball spotted a couple days ago in the skies above the Garden State has stumped scientists. Reportedly, at its peak it was as bright as the moon! Did you see it?
