The film was co-written by “Sopranos” creator David Chase and Lawrence Konner, and driected by Alan Taylor, who directed nine episodes of the original HBO series.

In some inspired casting, James Gandolfini's son Michael will play the young Tony Soprano. Vera Farmiga, Jon Bernthal, and Ray Liotta round out an impressive cast. The movie reportedly revolves around Tony's childhood in Newark around the time of the riots.
