Shrewsbury Officer who trespassed outside home while off-duty to resign

A Shrewsbury Police officer who admitted to trespassing at a borough residence while off-duty earlier this year uninvited and refusing to leave is now resigning from his post, according to the Monmouth County Prosecutors Office.

27-year old Ryan M. Cullinane will also forfeit his weapons and firearms i-d cards after his guilty plea to the fourth degree offense in court on Tuesday.

As part of his plea agreement, Cullinane will resign from the Shrewsbury Borough Police Department, forfeit his weapons and firearms ID card, as well as to have no victim contact and be prohibited from returning to scene of his admitted crime.

This plea was derived after consultation with victim.

Cullinane faces up to 18 months in state prison but is expected to apply to the Pre-Trial Intervention Program.

The case is assigned to Monmouth County Assistant Prosecutor Jennifer Lipp, Director of the Office's Professional Responsibilities and Bias Crimes Unit.
