The famous Seaside Heights carousel is still being disassembled and put into storage for the time being, but the future is bright!

Seaside Heights has received a $750,000 history preservation grant from the New Jersey Historic Trust to help repair and refurbish the carousel. It is a matching grant, which means every dollar raised by the Seaside Heights Historical Society for carousel repairs will be matched by the state.

The town's end goal is to build a new pavilion on the boardwalk that will be the home of the carousel, a museum dedicated to the history of Seaside Heights, and a hall that could host weddings and events. The whole pavilion would cost an estimated $4.5 million, so even with the grant from the NJ Historic Trust, it seems like the future will be full of fund-raisers in Seaside Heights.
