Rowan University Released 3D Printing Blueprint For PPE Mask
Rowan University medical, chemistry, and engineering students have created a blueprint that would allow people to print their own protective masks at home.
If you, or your company, has a 3D printer, you can download the instructions HERE. Rowan does stress that this is NOT a replacement for N95 masks, but "if printed, used and maintained correctly, the mask provides a durable, reusable mechanical barrier" for "clinical and field use."
While this isn't a perfect solution, it's a great gesture from Rowan U and its students. We've all read the stories about how masks are in high demand, so if a large company can start to 3D print these masks in bulk, it could make a big difference and help the medical field.
If you have a 3D printer and decide to make one of these, we'd love to see how it turns out! Send us pics or vids that we can share.
