Ray Manzarek: Light My Candles
Ray Manzarek, legendary co-founder of The Doors, and keyboardist, songwriter, filmmaker, producer and writer, turns 73 this weekend.
Ray was born in Chicago, Illinois on February 12, 1939 and was raised on the Southside of the city.
According to Ray's 1998 memoir, "Light My Fire", he wanted to play basketball as a teenager, but when his coach wouldn't let him play the position he wanted, he quit. If not for that fateful decision...well, you get the rest.
Ray Manzarek collaborated with Weird Al Yankovic and released the trippy and hysterical, "Craigslist" back in 2009: Tell us what you think below!
