Friday Afternoon Update:

The Ocean County Prosecutors Office has ruled the death of a man who fell from the Ocean County Parking Garage in Toms River Thursday night a suicide.

Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer said 38-year old Richard Hernon of Toms River jumped to his death from the top floor of the garage to the ground below.

Police arrived around 8:00 pm to find Hernon lying on the ground suffering from severe trauma to his head.

Both Billhimer and Sheriff Mike Mastronardy viewed video footage and confirmed the same outcome of the death.

Friday Morning Update:

Toms River Police and Ocean County Prosecutors are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a 39-year old man who may have jumped off the Ocean County Parking Garage on Hooper Avenue Thursday night.

Ocean County Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer tells WOBM News this morning that the man suffered serious head trauma.

"39-year old male appears to have jumped off the parking garage. He had his Drivers License on him but we need to notify family," Billhimer tells WOBM News. "Video will be reviewed to confirm that he jumped."

Police are investigating the death of a man who fell from the Ocean County Parking Garage on Hooper Avenue Thursday night in Toms River, as confirmed by Toms River Police Spokeswoman Jillian Messina to WOBM News.

Toms River Police along with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office and CSI from the Sheriffs Department are investigating the death of a male who sustained fatal injuries from a fall from the Ocean County Parking Garage.

Messina said that at this time the investigation is ongoing and further information will be released when it becomes available.
