David Gilmour says there's no truth to the recent media speculation that the living members of The Floyd will reunite for the 2012 Olympics in London to close out the ceremonies.

The London Evening Standard claimed that an insider said, ""Its long been made clear it would take something very special to get Pink Floyd back together again and it doesn't get any bigger than the Olympics."

But it seems David Gilmour, through a representative, is shooting down that pig story: "David Gilmour can confirm that there is no truth in recent media speculation about Pink Floyd reuniting to perform for the 2012 London Olympics."

Roger Taylor and Brian May have also been linked to the Olympics, and Sir Paul McCartney has been rumored to show up, but so far no big names have been confirmed for the concerts at the event.
