Phillies’ Grounds Crew Uses BLOWTORCHES To Dry Field
Tarping a baseball field can be tricky. Grounds crews are at the mercy of meteorologists just like we are, and sometimes we get rain when it's unexpected.
The field at Citizens Bank Park wasn't covered over the weekend because only a small amount of rain was expected. Once the heavy stuff started coming down, it was too late, and the field got a thorough soaking.
Since the Phils were scheduled to host the San Francisco Giants last night, the grounds crew busted out the heavy artillery: BLOWTORCHES.
Who knew being on the grounds crew could be such a badass job?
