Pedestrian shuttles resume on Route 72-Manahawkin Bay Bridge
Walkers and bicyclers going to Long Beach Island, or back to the mainland, can once again hop a shuttle bus to cross the Route 72 Manahawkin Bay Bridge.
The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJOT) runs the free buses every day of the week, while the walkway alongside the road bed is closed.
The eastbound LBI-bound bus boards at Morris Boulevard and stops at Third Street in Ship Bottom. Westbound, heading back to Manahawkin, it stops at Dutchman's Brauhaus and East Bay Avenue.
Completion of the entire project, resulting in two side-by-side bridges dedicated to one direction each, is scheduled for 2020.
