Friday Two Alarm Fire Wakes Up Stafford Neighborhood
BEACH HAVEN WEST — A quiet neighborhood in southern Ocean County was awakened with blaring sirens in the early morning hours on Friday.
When the initial crews arrived on the scene, they immediately activated a second alarm which prompted engines from the Barnegat Volunteer Fire Company #1 to respond.
The fire occurred in a detached garage, according to Capt. James Vaughn of the Stafford Township Poice Department, "The family was not displaced, and there were no injuries reported," he told WOBM News.
Crews were able to douse the flames quickly preventing further damage or damage to the home. The detached garage, where the fire is believed to have started, is severely damaged, according to officials.
Capt. Vaughn also confirmed that even though the fire is under investigation by the Ocean County Fire Marshall, it does not appear to be suspicious in nature.
