No Soup For YOU! Seinfeld Soup Stand Still Slinging Soup In NYC
Yesterday I went for lunch at a place that you may have not have even known was real. Are any Seinfield fans reading this? NO SOUP FOR YOU!
Yes, the "Soup Nazi" from the infamous Seinfield episode was featured right out front of The Original Soup Kitchen. They're still slingin' ladles and servin' up the best soup ever. Remember this classic episode?
If you are in the city you have to check out the unassuming soup stand where they order you around and you better like it.
The face on the marquee doesn't intimidate you, does it? The Soup Kitchen has so many options and one is better than the next.
Not that I'm going to complain, (we all saw how that ended for George) but you better love it to pay $22.00 for New England Clam Chowder. Hey, everything in NYC is expensive and soup is not immune. Everyone deserves a treat, and oh what a treat it is!
The line was around the block and that episode was how many years ago? It aired in 1995 so if I'm doing some Shannon math, that looks like 27 years ago (there have been a few incarnations during that time). Former owner Al Yeganeh (the character featured on the show) is still involved in the store. He actually has a webcam to check in on the shop anytime to make sure the quality is right...his soups are his babies. What are the rules for getting your soup?
Just like the show says, KEEP IT MOVING, KNOW THE SOUP YOU WANT, HAVE YOUR CASH READY AND MOVE TO THE LEFT! I had to type that in all caps for effect. Here is the address if you want to check it out for yourself and if not, then NO SOUP FOR YOU!
