When the New Jersey Department of Transportation put up a new sign at the base the Route 37 bridge, whoever was in charge of printing overlooked one key detail.

There is no such town as "Lavalette."

If drivers are heading eastbound on Route 37, the sign says they should Keep Left to get on Route 35 North to visit Ortley Beach and Lavalette, rather than the properly-spelled Lavallette.
