My dad always said to try and get a job you enjoy since you'll be working the rest of your life.

Working in radio and media, I'm blessed to be one of the few people who can say they're genuinely happy about what they do, sadly not everyone can say that.

Especially in New Jersey.

In fact, Jersey recently ranked as one of the worst states in the country for employees to work in.

NJ Is One Of America's Worst States For Workers.

Sure, your attitude about working indeed goes a long way, but other things also come into play.

Like your compensation.

If you don't make enough money to pay your bills and live a life then you just aren't going to be happy, and this seems to be the case for Jersey workers.

According to APP, New Jersey ranked in the top ten for worst states in the country for employees.

Georgia took the number one spot, New Mexico took Spot number ten and New Jersey came in as the ninth worst state in America to work.

Why Is New Jersey A Bad State For Workers?

APP reports that a lot of it has to do with compensation.

The average hourly wage in the Garden State is $24.56, which sounds much better than the $7.50 I was making bagging groceries as a teenager but when you consider Jersey's high taxes and cost of living, it's not much.

Jersey also had an employee satisfaction score of 34.09 which is abysmal.

It's not all bad though, Jersey is home to a ton of fun and free activities for you and your family to enjoy!
