Jen Pawol was a softball star at West Milford High School. In 2016, she became Minor League Baseball’s seventh-ever woman umpire, and is hoping to become the first to work a Major League game.

She was behind the plate last week during a scrimmage game between Florida Southern College and the Detroit Tigers, and has been working one-to-three games a day.

According to MLB.com, Pawol will continue doing preseason work in Florida to get ready for the season. After the season starts, she'll probably remain for extended spring games until the New York-Penn League opens in late June.
