1979's "Alien" is a horror/sci-fi classic. It's atmospheric, tense as hell, and a masterpiece of practical special effects.

As much as I love the movie, I never really thought about it in terms of a play, although in retrospect a lot of it is spent focusing on the interpersonal relationships of the crew as they try to survive the alien being on their ship.

Proving that it could be done as a stage production is the North Bergen High School Drama Club.

 Look at this facehugger scene!

  Look at that xenomorph!!

According to that last tweet, the entire production was created using recycled materials, which makes things awesome an a totally separate level.
