New York woman goes back in…driving into Stafford home

She wasn't going back in time, just backwards and into a house in Stafford Township on Wednesday afternoon around 3:30 pm.

Police say 86-year old Julia Elmowsky from Suffern, New York was heading down Oak Ridge Lane in a Ford Escape when she put her car in reverse.

She told police that she was applying the brake but accidentally hit the accelerator.

Her vehicle then accelerated into a home on Fort Lee Drive in the Perry's Lake section.

There were people inside the home but no injuries have been reported.

As a precaution, the driver of the vehicle was transported to the Southern Ocean Medical Center.
