Morganville woman charged with DWI after crashing into a house

Marlboro Police have announced the arrest of a 41-year old woman who crashed into a house in the Morganville section of the township early Friday morning.

It was around 1:51 am this morning when Marlboro Police received a call from the people who lived there and heard from them that a car had driven into their home and caused significant damage.

When police officers arrived at the home, they saw that a white 2021 Acura had penetrated through the walls of the home and left a huge, gaping 10 foot by 10-foot hole in the home.

Fortunately, the homeowners were safely able to get out of the house and did so unharmed and uninjured.

In addition to Marlboro Police being on the scene, the Robertsville Volunteer Fire Company was there as well and they helped in the efforts of stabilizing the vehicle from the home and addressing the opening.

Due to the significant damage to the home, the Marlboro Township Building Inspector deemed it uninhabitable and JCP&L responded to the home and shut the power.

The driver of the vehicle was examined by the Morganville First Aid Squad and was not injured but after an investigation on the scene, she was arrested and charged with Driving While Intoxicated along with other motor vehicle offenses.

The driver was processed at police headquarters and was then released.

While the driver got away uninjured as did the people living in the home, this crash could have ended so much worse, much in the way on a larger scale, two young men under the influence of alcohol and drugs, crashed into a business on Hooper Avenue in Toms River.
