The search for a missing swimmer at Harry Wright Lake in the Whiting section of Manchester Township Monday night turns into a recovery.

A Manchester patrolman dove into the water where a 9-1-1 caller, among the witnesses, said a man had fallen off a raft near the floating dock and into the lake around 6:32 pm and never re-emerged.

20-year old Luis Angel Meyo-Jimenez of Toms River was then rescued and CPR was given by two patrolman.

He passed away in hospitalization a short time later at Community Medical Center.

This incident is being investigated by Detective Danny Barker of the department's Investigations Bureau with the assistance of Detective Anthony Carrington Jr., of the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and Detective Dan Lesniakowski from the Ocean County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene Investigations (CSI) Unit.

Assisting at the scene were members of both the Whiting and Manchester Volunteer Fire Departments as well as EMTs from Quality Medical Transport and paramedics from MONOC.
