Popular Fast Food Chain May Face Problems Opening In This New Jersey Town

I love food as much as the next person, especially here in New Jersey where, I swear, everything tastes better.

I've had some of the best grub of my life since I moved here to The Garden State.

From breakfast sandwiches to Italian food, seafood, Mexican, and of course pizza, they've all blown me away as far as quality and taste.

What I really like is the amount of local mom-and-pop spots.

I'm a big fan of Mia's in Seaside Heights.

Capone's in Toms River is excellent too, whether you want pizza, a sub, or a wrap you really can't go wrong.

And if we're talking about cool local spots, Rivs Hub is well known for good food, I'm a fan of the wings.

With all of the delicious local places to grab a bite, Jersey also has a ton of fast-food restaurants.

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with fast food.

After a long night out, nothing tastes quite as good as a Baconator dropped off by Uber Eats.

However, I feel like more often than not, I'm seeing more fast food chains popping up throughout New Jersey.

A new fast food chain is trying to open up a new location in Middletown, in an area that's already pretty full of fast food restaurants.

In the short stretch of 35 that this chain wants to open, there's already a Burger King, Mcdonald's, a Wendy's, a Sonic, and a Dunkin.

According to APP's David P Willis, it appears as though Taco Bell is looking to open a new location near the King Commons Shopping Plaza in Middletown.

Middletown's first Taco Bell has some zoning hoops to jump through before opening.

For example, APP reports that restaurants have to be 1,500 feet apart from one another per town zoning requirements.

The proposed Taco Bell is only 605 feet from Wendy's.

Also, according to APP, businesses need to occupy at least 1.5 acres of land in order to be approved and the proposed Taco Bell would only take up 1.4 acres.

As I mentioned before, there's really nothing wrong with fast food places but do we really need that many in such a short stretch?
