New Jersey’s Beloved Michael’s Inn Is Closing After 55 Years In Raritan
It's not news that being in the restaurant business is tough, especially when running a local mom-pop bar and restaurant.
As much as we love our little hole in the walls and hidden gems, the past few years have been tough for them, and sadly, we've seen many of them close up shop over the past year or two.

For example, the Cassville Restaurant and Bar in Jackson suddenly closed earlier this year after nearly 6 decades in business.
Or you could look at Surf BBQ in Rumson, which appeared to be open one day, and then all of a sudden closed the next.
After 55 Years, Michales Inn In Raritan New Jersey Is Closing.
It's sad news to announce especially because this was a great local little watering hole known not only for its wide selection of beer on tap and in bottles but it was also a great place to grab a hot meal.
According to NJ.com, owner Lauren Speis announced the closure on Michael's Inn's Facebook page explaining that the decision was tough but due to how demanding and overwhelming the business was getting, closing was the only option.
In addition to the mental and physical toll the business had the property owner of the building the bar is in is selling the property and building.
The bar and restaurant will continue to operate through the end of December, so you do have the ability to go in and grab a bite and a drink and say goodbye to your favorite bartender.
