A Marine from South Jersey has reportedly died during training in South Carolina.

WJCL-TV reports Private 1st Class Dalton Beals passed away Friday during The Crucible, a final 54-hour test that is described as validating, "the physical, mental and moral training they've endured throughout recruit training."

According to NJ.com, Beals was 19-years-old and from Pennsville, Salem County. He graduated from Pennsville Memorial High School last year and was on the school's football, wrestling, and track teams.

Details surrounding Beals' death had not been released as of Tuesday afternoon, but newsweek.com reports an investigation has been launched.

A GoFundMe page to support the family has raised over $22,100. There, his mother described him as, "the most sincere, kindhearted, sweet and amazing young man."

Beals was set to graduate on June 18th.
