Thanks to a gift to the Manchester Township Police Department from resident Joanne Wright, Manchester K-9 Lynk is now protected by a bullet-and-stab-protective vest.

Chief Lisa Parker said

We, the members of the Manchester Township Police Department express our sincere gratitude to both Joanne Wright and the Vested Interest in K9s Organization for their generosity and support of our K-9 Unit.”

Wright sponsored the vest through the nonprofit organization, Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., in her husband's honor. It is embroidered with the words “In loving memory of Wayne T. Wright - Be safe.”

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. is a charity whose mission is to provide bullet and stab protective vests and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the United States. It was established in 2009 and has provided over 1,800 protective vests to police dogs.
