
Manahawkin mans attempt to rob Stafford Pharmacy foiled by employee
A Manahawkin man is facing charges including armed robbery for allegedly running into the Stafford Pharmacy on Nautilus Drive Thursday morning with a knife and screw driver in a hold-up before an employee later confronted the suspect who then fled the store empty handed.
Police were called to the scene for reports of a hold-up and following their investigation arrested Eric D. Apgar, 35, of Manahawkin who was described as 5'9, heavy-set and wearing a mask by witnesses for demanding they lay on the ground.
Apgar's robbery attempt around 11:30 Thursday morning was foiled when an employee confronted him.
The suspect is being charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes and is being held at the Ocean County Jail in lieu of bail, according to Stafford Police.
Bail has been set at $50,000.00.
