Lacey Police investigating disturbing death of a raccoon
Lacey Police are running point on the investigation into the disturbing death of a raccoon in a wooded area of the township on Friday December 7.
In a video too graphic to share, what looks to be a teenage boy, is repeatedly using the barrel of an aluminum baseball bat to pulverize a raccoon lying in the woods.
After the first over the shoulder swing, the raccoon is lying motionless on the ground before it stopped moving and a few more cracks of the bat ensued.

The incident is being investigated by Lacey Township Police in conjunction with the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office, as additionally confirmed by Prosecutor Bradley Billhimer, and the New Jersey Division of Fish and Wildlife.
Further information on the investigation has not yet been released.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Lacey Police Detective Adam Ewart at 609-693-6636 extension 2592.
