It's the end of an era at Six Flags Great Adventure, as the once-great Kingda-Ka is being torn down piece by piece over the course of several weeks.

This of course isn't breaking news, we've known for months that Six Flags Great Adventure was in the process of making some major changes.

We know of course that the Sky Ride is being torn down, Kingda-Ka is being demolished, and even the Green Lantern and The Twister are all being removed from the Park.

This is to make room for a new, first-of-its-kind vertical velocity coaster that'll be called The Flash.

You can read more about the big changes coming to Six Flags Great Adventure right here.

It's funny though, even though the plan all along was to demolish Kingda-Ka, seeing what was once one of the worlds tallest and fastest coasters on the planet disassembled piece by piece is very sad.

They've also been following the demolition of Kingda-Ka very closely.

In a recent video, they show what's left of Jersey's once beloved Kingda-Ka coaster, being taken down piece by piece revealing what's left.

Don't get me wrong, I'm excited for what the future of Great Adventure holds, and when opening day comes around this year I'll be excited to see their progress on the new additions to the park.

But without Kingda-Ka, Great Adventure just won't feel the same.
