With the 4th of July weekend here, you'll surely be hearing plenty of fireworks (legal or not) in the coming days.

But it won't be your neighbor blasting off pyrotechnics that will be making Ocean County loud later this month, it'll be the hard working men and women of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst.

The base posted its calendar of when things could get loud in July, and it's looking like the middle of the month will be the most active.

With minimal activity planned for the 4th of July weekend, things will start to ramp up going into the later days of July's 2nd week and weekend, then it'll get loud.

According to the schedule that the base released, the weeks of July 12th and July 19th will feature "Abundant Noise" with a 12-day stretch of training exercises planned for the middle of the month.

If you've lived in Ocean County for a while, you know that the closer to the interior of the county that you are, the louder that things can get.

The weather also has an impact on how far the sounds of the base's training exercises go, with overcast days allowing the noise to carry further than clear days.

Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst has always done a great job of keeping the public informed about when things will be getting noisy thanks to exercises that include things like artillery and explosives.

You can always follow along with Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst by clicking here for their official Facebook page, and we'll do our best to keep you informed when we get the heads up, too.
