A Manchester Board of Education school bus on its route to pickup kids and bring them to school was hit from behind while stopped Wednesday morning around 7:30 am on Ridgeway Road in the Township, sending three to the hospital with minor injuries.

The crash on Ridgeway Road near Commonwealth Boulevard took place after a 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by Steven R. Tomasi, 35, of Waretown hit the back of the bus at an undisclosed speed and was unharmed following the accident.

The bus had 10 students onboard at the time along with the bus driver Kori Brennan, 25, of Lakehurst and a school aid Theresa Schmidt, 44, of Whiting.

Brennan described pain in the neck and head to investigators as did Schmidt and a 16-year old girl, and all three were transported to Community Medical Center.

No other injuries were reported or further information regarding any investigation.

Ridgeway Road (CR 571) had been closed for a brief time during the initial investigation.
