As police were responding to the home, they were informed that a suspicious vehicle was in the area.

One of the officers spotted the vehicle, a 2015 Dodge, with two men inside who police said appeared nervous.

When the officer pulled this vehicle over, he saw various tools, gloves, clothing and a folding knife in plain view within the vehicle.

Meanwhile, the other officers responded to the home where the attempted burglary occurred and were told that the homeowner was woken up by what appeared to be unknown suspect(s) trying to enter the home through a window.

The suspects also allegedly pried the Ring camera doorbell off the hinges during their burglary attempt.

It still worked enough though so that when police reviewed the video, they saw the suspects matching the description of the two occupants of the vehicle which was stopped.

Brandon Murphy, 22, of Plainsboro and Evan Menconi, 35, of Point Pleasant were eventually placed under arrest.

Jackson Police Detectives continued the investigation this week and after searching the vehicle, they found several items suspected of being stolen from other locations, burglary tools and narcotics.

The items were seized and the vehicle was impounded pending potential forfeiture proceedings.

Police said that they were able to identify who the items belonged to which may result in both men arrested facing additional charges.

Murphy was charged with attempted burglary, conspiracy to commit burglary, possession of burglar tools, criminal mischief, destruction/concealment of evidence, possession of Xanax, possession of heroin, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled dangerous substance while operating a motor vehicle.

He was processed and released on summons pending a court appearance.
