Two teenagers who left a group home in New Jersey, stole a car in Asbury Park, and wound up in Jackson were arrested in the township this week.

Jackson Police said two of their officers were on patrol Tuesday morning when they went to check on the area within an undeveloped cul-de-sac near Clearstream Road and that's where they spotted a vehicle around 11:50 am parked along the road.

The officers saw two male teenagers inside of a gray 2007 Ford F150 pickup truck with a red tailgate, which was not only stolen as it turned out, but also was involved in a suspicious incident on Monday along North Boston Road, police said.

Two more Jackson Township Police Officers then responded to the scene and that's where it was confirmed the Ford F150 was stolen from Asbury Park.

When police asked the two teens for their names, they opted to provide fake ones.

Eventually police were able to get the accurate identities of both individuals as a 13-year old from Holmdel and a 15-year old from Jackson, and then both were arrested and the vehicle was impounded.
