The Game of Monopoly Has Rich Ties To Atlantic City, New Jersey

The actual originator of this now internationally popular game rarely receives the credit that she deserves.

According to MonopolyLand.com

Elizabeth Magie created the original concept behind Monopoly in 1903. She created the game, called "The Landlord's Game", to demonstrate the negative consequences of land ownership concentration. Charles Darrow played "The Landlord's Game", made his own version, and released it as Monopoly in 1933.

Darrow gets lots of headlines, however, it was Margie who infested the game 30 years prior to Darrow.

Darrow gave the game its Atlantic City identity, which has endured for almost 100 years.

The MONOPOLY Live game show will feature a real, super-sized MONOPOLY super-sized prize wheel.

Players will be able to sign up on site for the chance to spin the wheel for prizes. Select spins may trigger a bonus round, offering an additional chance to win.
