One springtime activity I do enjoy is birdwatching. If you have never just sat back and watched birds don’t knock it it’s very relaxing and you don’t even have to leave your home.

I have several bird feeders around our house and this time of year is perfect to have your feathered friends to stop by and grab a bite.
I will say I am not happy that the price of bird seed is up a bit. I do go for the economy seed bags when shopping. I did laugh to myself one day in the store I bought things for lunch and birdseed for the critters and I spent more on their food than mine lol
Usually you have several different species of birds who call your backyard home. The usual suspects include cardinals, robins, bluejays, grackles, sparrows, etc.
Take a look at some of this past weekends visit from our “backyard friends”.

Share some of your picks so we can check out your “backyard friends”. If you don’t have a bird feeder consider getting one. Get yourself a shepherd’s hook and a feeder and put it in your yard where you have a clear vision so you can watch for yourself.
According to Grok, the most common backyard bird in New Jersey is the robin. I think our yard has more cardinals, grackles, and house sparrows.
Soon as the weather heats up we will also have another backyard friend who visits on certain times of the year, the hummingbird!
