
Have You Come Across This Scam Here In New Jersey?
Scams seem to be popping up everywhere lately, and every day, people at home are often the target. There are scammers out there actively trying to take advantage of you and your family. I received this particular scam email and wanted to pass it along as a warning so no one else gets fooled.

I didn’t click on anything, so I don’t know exactly what they were trying to do, but the goal is clearly to get you to click their link. Once you do, that’s when problems can start, whether it sends you to a fake website or messes with your computer. Either way, that link spells trouble and should be avoided completely. If this email shows up in your inbox, the safest move is to delete it. A classic "phishing" scam.
Here is the email I received

You have Notice to Appear in Court
Hereby you are notified that you have been scheduled to appear for your hearing at the county courthouse. Please bring all documents and witnesses relating to this case with you to Court on your hearing date.
To view a copy of the court notice click here. Please, read it thoroughly.
Note: If you do not attend the hearing the Judge may issue a warrant for failure to appear in Court.

So there it is… if you get this email, DELETE it immediately, it is a scam! If you look, there is no identifying information.

- What County?
- What state?
- Who?
It’s simply an attempt to get you to click the blue “link”. Be careful, folks, and share this with your loved ones and friends so they avoid this "phishing" SCAM.
