Where Is The Best Under-the-Radar Steakhouse in New Jersey?
Is there anything better than sitting down to a really good steak? For me, there isn't. I've always been a steak guy, and if it's on the menu, chances are that's what I'm ordering. It doesn't matter if it's at a favorite restaurant or right off the backyard grill, a great steak is hard to beat.

Maybe that's why a steak dinner always feels like an event. Think about it. How many birthdays, anniversaries, Father's Days, or family get-togethers have ended with everyone enjoying a great steak? It just seems to bring people together.
Growing up, steak wasn't something we had every week, so when we did, it was special. Even today, I still get that same feeling. There's nothing like hearing that sizzle as it comes to the table or smelling it on the grill on a warm New Jersey summer evening. Doesn't that instantly make you hungry?
Everyone has their favorite cut. Some people love a ribeye, while others won't eat anything but a filet or a New York strip. Me? I'm pretty easy. As long as it's juicy, tender, and cooked just the way I like it, I'm smiling. Add a baked potato, maybe some grilled corn or asparagus, and you've got yourself one terrific meal.
I've had steaks at some outstanding restaurants over the years, but honestly, some of my favorites have come right off the grill at home. Family hanging out in the backyard, good conversation, and the smell of steak cooking—what's better than that?
Life gets busy, and we all seem to be running from one thing to the next. That's why I enjoy slowing down and savoring a good steak every once in a while. It's more than just a meal. It's about making memories, enjoying good company, and appreciating one of life's simple pleasures.
Where Is The Best Under-the-Radar Steakhouse in New Jersey?
According to an article by Cheapism, Jersey's most underrated steak is at Steakhouse 85 in New Brunswick. "Steakhouse 85’s core menu features dry-aged steaks prepared with a simple combination of sea salt, black pepper, and fresh herbs seared on a 1,200-degree cast-iron grill and broiled to order. Steakhouse 85 boasts an award-winning wine list. Order an aged prime rib-eye, Delmonico, or strip steak, and top it with Maytag blue cheese, applewood bacon, or seared foie gras."
If you're like me, you probably don't need a special occasion to enjoy a steak. Sometimes the best reason is simply because it's been a long week, the grill is hot, and you're in the mood for one of your favorite meals. I know I am.
