Is there anything better than live music?

I'll be the first to admit I've been slacking this year with going to concerts.

Usually, I try to hit at least one show per month whether it's a local gig or a national tour.

Fortunately in the Garden State live music is never too far away, and if that show also goes to support our local veterans, then sign me up.

In August, Long Branch Elks #742 are going to be hosting a benefit concert for area veterans, and the lineup is pretty great.

In short, an Elks Lodge is a fraternal organization with thousands of members, that tries to improve their respective communities.

According to their website they are

A generous charitable foundation that each year gives millions in scholarships, an inspiration to youth, a friend to veterans and more.

Community outreach and helping veterans is a large part of the Elks Lodge, and the concert that the Long Branch Lodge is planning crosses off both of those boxes.

Who's Playing at the Veterans Benefit Concert?

The lineup for this show features local groups, as well as a pretty big name in the world of rock.

You'll be able to enjoy music from Get Lit, Anyone's Guess, Spider Daniels Band, The Band Truth, and Lori Lustica.

The headliner for the evening is the one and only Vini Lopez performing with the Wino's!

If you're not familiar, Vini was one of the founding members of Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band and is a notable name in New Jersey rock history.

I'll see you at the show!
