Horror Movie Fans Can Tour The Real Camp Crystal Lake In New Jersey
The original "Friday the 13th" movie was filmed right here in New Jersey. Camp Crystal Lake, where Jason Vorhees stalked nubile teens, was actually a Boy Scout camp called "Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco".
Camp No-Be-Bo-Sco politely asks fans of the movie to stay away while the camp is open, since it’s not exactly nice to try to terrorize real campers during the summer. However, in 2011, the camp held it’s first public tour to celebrate Friday the 13th. The last tour was in November of 2015, the next one is happening this autumn!
There are a limited number of tickets available, and they will NOT be sold at the camp on the day of the tour.
Tickets will be announced in two groups:
Group 1) To show appreciation for the most dedicated fans, the first group of tickets will be announced via email to anyone that has made a minimum $50 souvenir purchase in the online shop between January 1st, 2017 and 7am the day the tickets go on sale.
Group 2) After that, the remainder of the tickets will be announced to the general mailing list. You can join the mailing list here.
Tickets will go on sale during the week of August 28th, 2017. They will be for sale immediately after the announcement email is sent.
