This weekend is the annual LBI Sea Glass & Art Festival in Ship Bottom. If you head to the Island to check it out, you'll also be able to part of an attempt at a Guinness World Record for Conch Horn Blowing!

On Saturday the 5th, head to Things A Drift on Long Beach Boulevard in Ship Bottom. Registration is from 1:30-3:30, and the record attempt will start at 3:45pm. Registration is free, and you can bring your own conch shell. If you'd like to rent or buy a conch, Things A Drift has you covered.

If you do bring your own, make sure it is a Queen Conch Shell, or else it won't count towards the record.

Here are the rest of the official rules:

  • All participants must register
  • Participants must use only the Queen Conch (Lobatus gigas)
  • Only registered participants with a Queen Conch are permitted inside the secured official Guinness World Record attempt area
  • Only participants seen blowing the Queen Conch in the official photo and video will be counted for the Guinness World Record

LBI set this record in 2012, and hopefully it can be broken this year!
