Like just about every business, the Marine Mammal Stranding Center is going through tough times. The Center is not funded by the government. Instead, they rely on donations, grants, memberships, seal adoptions and fundraisers. The pandemic has led to the cancellation of all fundraisers, and the museum has been closed to the public since March. Without those funds coming in, the MMSC has created a fundraiser on Facebook.

Right now, they've raised just over $28,000, with a goal of $50,000.

I know that times are tough for us all. Many have been out of work, or had hours cut. Local businesses are closing for good, hurting both the owners and employees. I'm obviously not asking you to go beyond your means, but if you have a few bucks to spare, help out a great organization that helps animals all over our area.
