If you happen to see scarves tied around trees or lampposts or street signs in your neighborhood, don't just tear them down - they're part of a trend aimed at helping the homeless during the winter.

Scarves have been spotted as far north as Canada, stretching down to North Carolina. I haven't seen any in the Ocean County area, but with the unfortunately large number of homeless people in our region, it could be a great help.

If you see any scarf-trees in your neighborhood, feel free to share pictures and locations with us!
