Former New Jersey Lieutenant Governor and recently named CEO & President of Fulfill, Kim Guadagno, will join postal employees at the Toms River Post Office Saturday in an effort to “Stamp Out” hunger in Ocean County.

Guadagno will be greeting letter carriers returning from their routes on Saturday afternoon who are taking part in the Post Office’s annual Stamp Out Hunger campaign by collecting food donations from residents and businesses along their mail routes.

“I’m very pleased that Kim Guadagno will be visiting Toms River as Fullfill’s President and CEO,” Ocean County Freeholder Director Virginia Haines said.

Haines, a former board member of the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties, felt Guadagno was the perfect choice to lead the charitable organization.

“I’ve known Kim Guadagno for many years. She was an outstanding lieutenant governor and public official and now she brings that drive and commitment to the war against hunger,” Haines said.

After the postal workers return with their food donations, Guadagno will take part in an afternoon barbecue at the post office to thank the employees for their hard work.

According to the National Association of Letter Carriers, residents whose post offices are taking part in the Stamp Out Hunger Campaign can leave nonperishable food items near their mailboxes Saturday morning.

The food should be placed in paper bags so it can be easily carried.

The Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is the country's largest single-day food drive.

It is held annually on the second Saturday in May in 10,000 cities and towns in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands and Guam.
